The Acorn bookshop is closing temporarily from 22nd September to enable us to refresh and restart in a way that better reflects the aspiration of the shop as a resource for Christians in the city. Due to the increase in internet purchases, the bookshop does not sell enough items to be viable, even as a volunteer run business. Christ Central Church now pay for upkeep and running of the premises and share the costs of the shop. To that end, they will now take more ownership in how the shop is running. The heart of Christ Central is to see the city continued to be served by a physical bookshop, with bibles, books, gifts and cards you wouldn’t be able to get on the high street.
